The success or failure of a collection transaction can be determined in as little as 5 minutes. If a collector knows the right strategy in approaching a client, a successful collection is accomplished in a few minutes. However, if a collector has not been taught the proper skills, hours and even days can be wasted in a futile attempt to collect.
Collecting without having the adequate negotiation skills simply results in loss: loss of income, loss of time and loss of opportunity. Even an understanding of negotiations but without the appropriate collection skills would have the same result.
