The Advanced Creative Writing workshop caters to writers who wish to hone their skills and widen their range in creative writing. It aids them in developing their personal style and voice, and helps them understand the nuances of either fiction or non-fiction writing. The course consists of a lecture, which serves as the introduction of the course, online sessions for individual work discussions, and a summary class to recap the whole module, and the writing and workshop process involved.

The workshop instructor, Dr. Rosario Cruz- Lucero, teaches Philippine literature and creative writing at the Departmento ng Filipino at Panitikang Pilipino and at the Department of English Studies and Comparative Literature of the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where she obtained her AB, MA, and Ph.D. degrees.

She took postgraduate studies at Oxford University, England on a British Council grant, and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, on a Ford Foundation grant. She has conducted an observation tour of ASEAN universities on an Asian Foundation grant; and received a writing fellowship for Lavigny, Switzerland.

The workshop fee is Php 5,000 inclusive of workshop handouts, materials, snacks, and a ertificate. A down payment of Php 1,000 is required for slot reservation. The deadline for reservations is September 16, 2011. A Php 500 discount will be given to those who pay in full on or before the deadline. Payment can be made in cash, check, or through credit card.

Each registered participant is required to submit a written draft of a story or essay, for evaluation of the instructor, on or before September 21, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
