Starting July 2010, the New Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758) took effect globally. If you are involved in transactions using Bank Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit in international trade, investment projects and project finance structures, this seminar is a must for you to attend.
The use of international guarantees and standby LCs has proliferated in recent years yet documentation errors, fraud and unfair calling have made guarantees a legal minefield and subject to more court proceedings than any other financial instrument. The Center for Global Best Practices in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is holding this one-time event for those who must attend:
• Business Owners who need to use bank guarantees and Standby LCs in their business and trade transactions
• Exporters/ Importers who use bank guarantees and standby LC for their import / export
• Bankers with responsibility for trade finance & guarantees
• Banks' in-house legal counsels and lawyers involved in subject matter litigation
• Lawyers with clients in international banking, trading and finance
• Professionals negotiating for procurement of supplies and installation contracts
This program is MCLE Accredited.
