Impress is a part of the OpenOffice.org office suite developed by Sun Microsystems.  It is  distributed under an open source license and is  available for download free of  charge.  Similar to Microsoft PowerPoint.  Impress  presentations can be exported to short web files (SWF) and can be played on any PC with a Flash player installed. It is able to view, edit and save files in several file formats, including the .ppt format, which is used by Microsoft PowerPoint.
