Almost everyone knows a story about a child who struggles with school. The child’s parents encourage, motivate, and even threaten children in the hope of improving the child’s performance. Most of these children are sent to tutorial centers for them to survive in school. Often, the problem lies with difficulties in reading that are undetected. And while the problems persist, the difficulties will continue to pull down academic performance and self esteem to even lower levels.
So what do we do and how do we know we need to take reading difficulties of our children and/or students seriously? How do we help them to read and learn more effectively?
A reading specialist, a developmental paediatrician, a parent and a teacher will share their expertise and experiences on how Reading Assessment can be a powerful tool in helping our children and/or students overcome reading difficulties.
