For the first time since the start of the English Linguistics Project (ELP) in 1991, its research outputs are now available to the public, as published by Anvil Publishing, Inc.. The English Manual 8th ed. was released in September, and the English Workbook 6th ed. in November last year; both are in bookstores nationwide. Two more books – Critical Thinking in Written Communication 4th ed. and Critical Thinking in Oral Communication 3rd ed. – are due for release this coming June. The fifth book – Research and Presentation Strategies, 2nd ed. – is due in November.
In this way, we believe we can help more Filipinos improve their proficiency in English for academic and professional purposes, as dictated by the increasingly global context of academe and the workplace, instead of limiting our outputs only to client schools and companies.
Still, your school can give your students the much-needed competitive edge in English not just by adopting the ELP books as textbooks in your General Education English courses, but more so by your school’s availing itself of the teaching materials and faculty training that the ELP and Anvil offer as complimentary service. Teacher training towards effecting a paradigm shift to international English is the key to raising your students’ proficiency to match the requirements of college courses, and the expectations of multinationals and other high-paying companies.
We invite you to an orientation seminar on the ELP series on April 9, 2011 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Powerbooks Greenbelt 4. Due to limited space please reserve immediately. For inquiries and reservations, please contact Rho-Anne Vinluan at the ff. contact numbers 477-4752, 477-4755 to 57 loc. 808 or email your reservations to: anvilpublishing@yahoo.com.
Let us be partners in helping the Filipino youth break through the English language barrier to most jobs in the world today.
